What The Club Says
This internationally acclaimed course was laid out by Jack Nicklaus, who's described it as one of his best designs to date. It's a very challenging 18 holer and even the expert golfer will find it a good test. Montecastillo was host to the Volvo Masters for five years from 1997-2001 and has received €2 million investment over the last couple of years making it an even better round of golf.

Superb course
Despite poor form, no complaints for this fantastic course. Excellent greens, well used fairways so less lush & good tees. And some truly great views. Lots of water hazards too.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic Course, poor service and definitely no "smiles" given
The course is extremely enjoyable and testing, many elevated tees over looking hidden gorges, well worth visit - only disappointment golf wise was the 11th Par 3Its a nothing hole - just very long 200+ straight up-hill with no visible hazards or anything at all to note. Every other hole is an outstanding test of golf (bring your driver of the whites), greens a bit slow but I'm happy with that.
Take some snacks from the local supermarket with you as drinks are only available at the lodge and the refreshment buggy on the six occasions we played, we didn't see it once and apparently only has drinks again but I can't confirm this.
The halfway-house is two drinks machines, water and fizzy pop only. Extremely poor facilities for a 5 star resort and the staff can come across as very rude if you question the facilities.
Petrol heads will love it as the noise from the Jerez GP course is constant throughout the day, but sometimes off-putting as it is a constant from 1000hrs - 1600Hrs.
Well worth the visit just for the golf though and we did enjoy the week there, will not go back though purely because the facilities and staff were so poor in my opinion.
