What the club says: The golf course at Los Moriscos is situated right by the beach; an ideal location for this course as it offers wonderful views of the Mediterranean sea. The course is not overly difficult as it offers wide and mostly flat fairways, making it an ideal place for a relaxing days golf for all levels of player. This is a relatively new golf course and so features several artificial lakes, yet very mature palm trees and vegetation since they are transported and planted already fully grown. Other magnificent views include those of the Sierra Nevada mountains, which are not to far away should you wish to visit them.

I last played this course in its original 9 hole format some years ago and fondly recalled the quirks of the layout of some of the front 9, including the beach walk from holes 3 to 4. I'm glad to say that the more recently added 9 holes are mostly good additions and I enjoyed playing here very much this time. Be warned though, if you are on foot and carrying, you might start to begrudge some of the distances to be traversed between holes.
I found the greens to be in good condition although some inconsiderate players before me hadn't repaired their pitch marks (same the world over it seems). Like many Costa courses it is very tight in places with imposing buildings lining the fairways, for this reason the driver stayed mainly in the bag and so I needed more fairway shots, luckily the fairways have a decent covering of short grass. There are some challenging greens surrounded by water and some bunkers aren't visible until you are in them, unless you carefully study the course guide. I note that the uploaded scorecard had the wrong VC / SSS - if you calculate your handicap with the correct slope value, it seems fair as it isn't the longest course and most holes are reachable for the bogey golfer except for the watery exceptions mentioned.
I also met some very interesting characters during play (many of whom seemed to want to discuss Brexit, but the less said about that, the better)
All in all, a bit pricey, but as there is nothing else for 40+km around... it is definitely the best course for 40+km around.

Fairly easy course near the sea. The course was okay but not very challenging the best part was the nineteenth hole right on the beach where our group was able to relax for a coupe of hours before the coach picked us up. Would go back for the beach bar afterwards.
