What The Club Says
Opened in 1982, 18 holes. The first nine were designed by David Thomas and the old ones designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior. Par 71
The signature hole is the 18th which is played over the scenic valley. You will enjoy the views of the Guadiaro river, Mediterranean Sea and Valderrama Golf Course our closest neighbour.
The course has excellent irrigation and drainage facilities, so is always in very good condition all year round. This is a popular course with a large number of members where annual memberships and visitors are more than welcome any time.
Our recommendation to players who are not used to warmer temperatures is to use buggies which are always available for rent or alternatively electric trolleys.

Nice course worth playing
First time playing at La Canada. Clubhouse nice, but bit shabby in places compared to others in the area. Good practice facilities. Course in reasonable condition, green a bit worn in places but rolled well. Got to plot your way around a little, not driver off every tee as there are a few tight holes. Worth playing if staying in the area.Reviewer Rating

Great course with fantastic views
La Canada is set in the mountains in the Sotogrande area. Perhaps it doesn't have the name of more famous courses like Valderamma, but there are plenty of challenging holes with rolling tree-lined fairways, and well protected greens to test any standard of golfer. Well worth visiting.(Round played: Sep 2019 - Score: 103 Handicap: 24.4)

Lovely course; strong winds when I played and I suspect a lot of the time as it has sea views. Lightning fast greens (one friend complained that he couldn't putt softer and it went 20 feet past). Greens in good condition. Staff friendly. Buggies added free of charge. Friendly atmosphere and good, cheap food.
