Praia D'El Rey Golf & Beach Resort

It is certainly one of the most picturesque layouts in Europe, set in extensive grounds of pine forest and undulating dunes with spectacular views over the Atlantic and the Berlenga Islands beyond. The course is visually stunning and tremendously exciting to play. Because of the endless variations of the terrain you'll never play it the same.

Great course on the coast

A mixture of links and parkland style holes in fantastic condition with spectacular views over the Atlantic. Marshalls are keen on the pace so keep up. Will definately be back. Very nice clubhouse and restaurant.

One of the best in Portugal. Front 9 is good, back 9 is superb particularly the holes by the sea late in the round. In great condition. So much value for money compared with UK. A must play!!

PDR-The nicest course in Lisbon

This is by far the nicest course we play in Lisbon each year with beautiful flowers and a wonderful array of holes testing every golfer. The short seem easy but are not.....the tough seem difficult but are fair and if respected one can score on them. Greens are superb and catering facilities are top class. An enjoyable experience for all golfers.......weak and strong alike.

Worth playing

Certainly worth playing. We had a very slow round (5 hrs 10minutes) behind Scandinavians and were started at the 10th. A challenging layout more so if the wind gets up. Some impressive views. The course condition was excellent.

What a gem

This is the best course by far in this part of Portugal. It has it all. The fairways are mature and the greens are superb. The bunkers were well maintained and plenty staff were frindly and professional. The course is mature and ten pace of play was good. We started on the back 9 but were not delayed when we got to hole one. A really enjoyable experience.

Worth visiting

If you only considered the back 9 this would be a 5* course as the views over the Atlantic just next to the holes are spectacular. The course is in great condition considering the time of year and while the front 9 are somewhat forgettable parkland holes I certainly recommend playing it.

One that should always be on your itenary and one that we will pay again this April. Lovely well maintained course with superb facilities. Plenty challenges but one to enjoy in the fantastic weather. A shower lasted minutes but thankfully we were looking out on it from ten clubhouse having played our 18 holes in glorious sunshine.

Excellent course with some great links style holes. Even those "inland" were very good. Good clubhouse, good food, unfortunately Europe lost the Ryder cup on their screens the night before...

Played and stayed at this course in September. The service was outstanding and the course was in very good condition. It has some spectacular looking holes that run a long the coast and was great to play.

Praia d'el Rey is one of the most beautiful and well kept golf courses I have ever played on. The first 9 goes through a pine forest, with initial ocean views. The second nine goes along the coast except the last two holes. It is also not very crowded, as it is a resort destination, with no or few local players.

A most enjoyable yet difficult course with some very challenging Par threes and fours. It is located in a very nice setting and has friendly staff in the club house and the restaurant. Quite a challenge for the high handicapper.

The course was undergoing some green repairs whilst we were, so the run wasn't great on some greens. However, if you could see beyond that it's a very good course. We were also hit by a torrential down pour which meant the 10th was unplayable for 45mins or so. All that said it is a great course, well looked after with good facilities. Would definitely play again.
