What the club says: This was the first course to open on the Eastern Algarve. Designed by Sir Henry Cotton he decided to make the old church the clubhouse, which sits proudly in the middle of the complex. The course offers some fantastic sights with the mountains of Barrocal to the North and the Atlantic Ocean to the South. The course isn't particularly long at just over 6,000 yards but it plays like a rhythmic beat. Both sets of nine start and end in view of the clubhouse and each nine get tougher as you go along. Scattered with olive, carob, fig and cork trees, a walk around this course is like a walk through the glory of nature.

Benamor is an ideal club that if you retire and move to or spend the winter months in the east algarve you would join as it is not long and in reasonable condition it's not as expensive as some of the other courses in the area and the clubhouse has a members feel about it.

Well worth golf course
Nice old style golf course. Not too difficult, with very exciting holes.A lot of space to play slices/hooks.

Henry Cotton design worth playing
I always enjoy Benamor. It is walkable, challenging, but doesn't beat you up, like, say, a Pete Dye course. Greens in decent shape & traps are raked/prepared well. Fun course.Reviewer Rating

Very Busy Course
Due to its proximity of being the nearest course East of Faro to Tavira it’s busy with Northern Europeans and can be slow with golfers in buggies which aren’t really needed as it’s an easy walk and quite short.(Round played: Jan 2022 - Score: 86 Handicap: 16.8)

playes the course as part of a trip to play 4 courses. testing but not too difficult that you lose lots of balls in the rough. Greens were in excellent condition.

Short but testing
The course is short by modern day standards but it is no pushover with quick undulating greens it's also there has been a lot of improvements to the course in recent times(Round played: Dec 2018 - Score: 88 Handicap: 11.6)

Tavira bargain
Not the toughest course, but a pleasant walk. The Algarve has suffered from lack of rain this past summer, so the roughs are a bit concrete-like, but all-in-all, a decent track. Be aware of a typical Portuguese pricing structure; they change every other month it seems.Reviewer Rating

Nothing changed since last review so rather silly to have to fill in a review every time I play here which is quite often. I still enjoy this pretty course.

As always a perfect day, great club and enjoyed (although hot) the round, for someone who now through work, plays not a lot, this club is great for the occn player, great for a a good player and also pretty good for starters.

Played course twice between 23rd and 28th December 2016\Found course in good shape for time of year \Staff very helpful both days \Had lunch which I enjoyed \Will be back week after Easter to play course again

Opening round of the Shakey Golfers Portugal tour 2016. Great little course with some serious challenges. Well worth a visit.
