What The Club Says
Situated within the dunes of Ambleteuse, and dating back to 1901, the traditional links beauty of Wimereux was redesigned after the first world war by British architects Campbell and Hutchinson. This stunning 6,726 yard Par 72 championship seaside layout features views out across the channel to the White Cliffs of Dover and heavy pot bunkering. The pedigree of the course is of a very high standard and it is for this reason that Wimereux has hosted many international and regional tournaments in recent years. The clubhouse offers a superb restaurant & bar, complete with a terrace overlooking the course. Furthermore, Wimereux is only 15 min. south of Calais, 35 min. from Le Touquet and 15 min. from Hardelot.

Links like course
Wimereux is much like a UK traditional links course. Cliff top rather than seaside, but thin running fairways, deep bunkers, heavy rough, fast true greens and quite a few gorse bushes, links golfers will feel right at home. I loved it, but I love links golf. Played on a sunny, low wind day so it was fun rather than a grind. Great views of the French coast and England. Good cluhhouse with decent well priced food. Buggies 35 Euros and plentiful. Highly recommended. One issue raised by others is poor signposting between holes and you can get lost!Reviewer Rating
