What the club says: Situated within the dunes of Ambleteuse, and dating back to 1901, the traditional links beauty of Wimereux was redesigned after the first world war by British architects Campbell and Hutchinson. This stunning 6,726 yard Par 72 championship seaside layout features views out across the channel to the White Cliffs of Dover and heavy pot bunkering. The pedigree of the course is of a very high standard and it is for this reason that Wimereux has hosted many international and regional tournaments in recent years. The clubhouse offers a superb restaurant & bar, complete with a terrace overlooking the course. Furthermore, Wimereux is only 15 min. south of Calais, 35 min. from Le Touquet and 15 min. from Hardelot.

super golf course. Fairways are fairly generous with greens that are slower given all the rain this year. Definitely hope to play again.

Links like course
Wimereux is much like a UK traditional links course. Cliff top rather than seaside, but thin running fairways, deep bunkers, heavy rough, fast true greens and quite a few gorse bushes, links golfers will feel right at home. I loved it, but I love links golf. Played on a sunny, low wind day so it was fun rather than a grind. Great views of the French coast and England. Good cluhhouse with decent well priced food. Buggies 35 Euros and plentiful. Highly recommended. One issue raised by others is poor signposting between holes and you can get lost!Reviewer Rating

Horrendous weather! A howling gale and no protection! A true links course, difficult in the wind and rain! One tee box on the top of a WW11 German gun emplacement! Good club house and restaurant

We unfortunately played this course in a strong wind whilst it was tipping down with rain, and yet the course was excellent! Perfect for a links course which made it challenging. The holes were set up perfectly for the prevailing wind and everything was great apart from 1 very poorly designed green on the 15th with an even worse placed pin position. Can't complain about anything else!

Usually a recovery if you get of the fairway. Can be windy in its cliff top location. Play when weather is benign.

Links course on the N France coast near Boulogne.
It was sunny and calm when we played but still a tough challenge.

On the cliffs overlooking the coast, so the difficulty depends on if the wind is in play. Friends compared it with St. Andrews in this respect, in that it is quite benign when the day is calm, as it was for us!

Good, nicely kept course. Was calm weather when I played thankfully, a bit of wind though and this could be very tough. Provided a very good start to a week with a pleasant round
