What the club says: The beautiful ocean town of Biarritz can be found nestling in the Basque country of south west France on the Biscay Bay. One of the foremost resorts on the Côte Basque, Biarritz is renowned for its beautiful architecture, magnificent beaches, chic shopping, excellent dining, luxurious accommodation and of course, top golf courses. It is also famous for its surfing and is known as the town that kick-started the sport in France.
Located in the town itself, the links at Biarritz le Phare is a good test of any golfer's technique and course management skills with fast greens, wiry rough and 70 bunkers. One of the oldest courses in France, Biarritz le Phare seems relatively short, but will feel much longer when the wind blows. Not to be taken lightly, complacency could wreck a card with plenty of natural hazards ready to scupper a decent score.

Slow Play
Round was partly spoiled by a group in front who seemed to be sharing 2 sets of clubs between 3 and were in no way going to let a faster group through. We played with 2 members who were equally annoyed.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 114 Handicap: 29.8)

Short but good
Not a hugely long course but tricky and we found it in excellent condition. Some lovely holes and a pleasant club atmosphere.(Round played: Jun 2019 - Score: 90 Handicap: 21.4)
