Very enjoyable visit. Lovely park land course with lots of fine mature trees. The layout makes the most of the contours. There are plenty of changes of elevation. The greens were in fine condition and running true. We received a warm welcome. The catering was excellent and the prices reasonable. We had bacon sandwiches on arrival and roast pork when we finished. Happy to recommend.

Greens and Fairways in excellent condition as were approach aprons, all bunkers raked with manual rake available at each. Surrounding woodland also managed to a good standard. Pace of play was slow but we were following a society day with 4 x 4 balls. Decent clubhouse with friendly helpful staff.

Great course shame about the gun shots...

Nice course and good layout. Well maintained and great greens.
Would certainly play again but not on a Sunday due to constant gun shots from a nearby shoot which isn't the best background noise for playing golf. Other than this a very enjoyable round of golf.

Difficult Set-Up

I had enjoyed my previous visits to this course but on this occasion the greens were so fast and pin positions so difficult that the course was very hard for an average club golfer to score. Only one of our group beat his handicap. Play was considerably slowed down as well.

Very pleasant course

Played in April 22 very attractive setting with generous fairways. Tee boxes and general course appearance very good and greens although recently sanded and tined still interesting if a little bumpy. These will become better in a few weeks. A reasonable walk with undulations but not too steep for us older ones. Would definitely play again and value for money

Very nice.

The course was in good condition throughout, which is more than can be said for my game on the day!
It held it's own when compared a couple of similarly priced venues, Tankersley Park and Waterton Park, which we've visited very recently.
You do need to keep the ball on the short stuff, which I struggled with, as the first cut of rough is pretty "sticky" and beyond that it's hay. The greens were tricky, with plenty of undulations as well as being pretty fast. They were true though and, despite my abysmal score, I don't remember missing a putt from within 6 feet.
The course is fairly hilly, as are most in the area, so it provides a half decent workout for us older players.
Value for money was good at £28/round and the staff and members were all friendly and helpful.
All in all Woolley Park is well worth a visit.

The entire round was ruined by the greenstaff who were cutting and dressing greens and did not move aside to allowi play and therefore we waited on the first 6 holes for them to clear and allow groups in front to play
When we asked if this was to carry on for the round wre told if we didn't like to pick up and leave
Later when asked the way to next tee the response for greenstaff was probably
It must rate as one of the most expensive courses in the area with the rudest staff I have ever encountered
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE COURSE TO ANYBODY

Enjoyable day, although my golf was rusty after lockdown.
Course was in good condition apart from hole 3 where we were still on a temporary after last year's vandalism of the proper green. As always the price has increased again for visitors, and I do not think it is worth ?30 a round compared to better courses in the area.

Holes 2 & 3 were on poor temporary greens as the originals had been vandalised. It will be next year before they recover. Only had a £3 reduction off the green fee to £25 for this round, as compensation. They have let the rough grow this year which made it more of a test which was good, but it is still expensive to play here as a visitor and the members are not too friendly.
