The entire round was ruined by the greenstaff who were cutting and dressing greens and did not move aside to allowi play and therefore we waited on the first 6 holes for them to clear and allow groups in front to play
When we asked if this was to carry on for the round wre told if we didn't like to pick up and leave
Later when asked the way to next tee the response for greenstaff was probably
It must rate as one of the most expensive courses in the area with the rudest staff I have ever encountered
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE COURSE TO ANYBODY

Difficult Set-Up

I had enjoyed my previous visits to this course but on this occasion the greens were so fast and pin positions so difficult that the course was very hard for an average club golfer to score. Only one of our group beat his handicap. Play was considerably slowed down as well.

Enjoyable day, although my golf was rusty after lockdown.
Course was in good condition apart from hole 3 where we were still on a temporary after last year's vandalism of the proper green. As always the price has increased again for visitors, and I do not think it is worth ?30 a round compared to better courses in the area.

Holes 2 & 3 were on poor temporary greens as the originals had been vandalised. It will be next year before they recover. Only had a £3 reduction off the green fee to £25 for this round, as compensation. They have let the rough grow this year which made it more of a test which was good, but it is still expensive to play here as a visitor and the members are not too friendly.

Played here many times, this time disappointed with the cost of a round, my assumption is their not too bothered about non members.

9 Holes

Used to play this course when it first opened and you payed at a hut. It's a lot different now especially the price. Anyway, we had a visit and played the 9 hole course. Well kept fairways and greens, but needed a course in orienteering to find our selves around. The 2nd hole is down as a dog leg right, so we played over the out of bounds and found ourselves on the 7th tee, working it out it's more of a straight shot with a slight fade .Would have enjoyed it more if the tee markings had been better.

Course was in good condition, with the rough not too high. Greens were very good and tricky.
Food & drink & hospitality good too.

Unfortunately a severe overnight frost deemed we had to play on temporary greens at a reduced price of £22 each. Some of these were very poor and were quite small. The proper greens after the frost had melted looked in good condition as was the rest of the course. Will have to come back later in the year for a proper round of golf. Friendly staff and the food is excellent.

This course is always good, has to be one of the best in winter, it was cold and damp when we played, yet the greens were still very good. I do find the set up a bit boring, not a lot off good holes.
