What The Club Says
Woking is a heathland course providing the golfer with a test characterised by beautiful but menacing heather carries, fast running fairways and greens full of “subtle” slopes. Complementing this, the player is frequently treated to grand views, as the rise and fall of an interesting topography unfolds, enhancing an architecture which, over the last century, has influenced the thinking of many course designers. As great golf vistas go that from the 11th tee with its commanding view of the 5th and 6th holes offers a glorious reward for the player who is able to pause for a moment before taking the driver from the bag.

Wow
Played here in June 2024. This is a "once in a lifetime" course. It is truly out of this world and worth every penny of the expensive green fee. So good that for me it will be a "twice in a lifetime" course after next month. The greens are beautifully kept; fast and true. the setting is stunning, even if slightly compromised by the railway line running down the side of the course for a couple of the holes.Reviewer Rating

A Classic
This is a terrific course that played fast and true despite all the recent rain and i think could be very difficult if they decide to tuck the pins away!Reviewer Rating

Great experience
I was lucky enough to play 36 holes midweek in a society day at Woking, and would thoroughly recommend it. The facilities are adequate but charming with lots of historical photos and stories on the walls of the clubhouse, with a very nice shady veranda area overlooking the 14th green - the perfect spot for a cold drink on the hot day we enjoyed. The welcome was friendly, catering good and the course was fantastic. The conditioning was so good on the fairways and greens, and it's a very attractive place with tall pines, heather and various wildlife. My favourite thing however was the contours of the greens; I've never seen anything like it. Every green was different but all were a rollercoaster of humps and tiers, thus presenting the biggest challenge on the course - getting your ball into the right parts of the green, and wherever possible below the hole. If I'm being critical, a couple of holes are a bit straightforward and I was a bit underwhelmed by the course architecture in terms of all the noise about it being very strategic, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return. I can't compare to the West Hill or Worplesdon as I haven't played either but if you get the chance to visit Woking then I'd recommend you do.Reviewer Rating
