What the club says: The origins of Westport officially date back to 1926, when Westport Golf Club was formed as a 9 hole course. Situated near the townland of Carowholly, the club moved to its present location in 1973 and has matured into one of the finest parkland courses in the west of Ireland. In this course of two distinct halves, the opening nine is relatively straightforward but a long back nine calls for character.

A good parkland course with fantastic views. Not in the same class as the links courses in the same area but well worth playing. The 15th and 18th (both par 5s) are great holes.

I played this course on the 2nd July 2014. It is a long parkland course of 6477 (yellow tees) but set beside Clew Bay with beautiful mountain scenery where it is often windy. The course condition and club facilities are excellent. I played on a Wednesday when the club organise an open competition with everyone welcome with an entrance fee of 25 euros.

Played on a Sunday in late May 2010. Absolutely fantastic and a bargain at €30. The views are stunning, the course was challenging and in excellent condition. Will go back for sure.
