What the club says: Set in the scenic countryside in the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan the well maintained parkland course is long recognised as one of the finest challenges of golf in Wales. Designed by five times Open winner James Braid the course comprises two loops of nine holes each beginning and ending near the imposing 18th Century Mansion House that has served as the clubhouse for over 70 years. The 18 hole Par 72 golf course is 6544 yards in length and has a well deserved reputation for being one of the finest in Wales. Whatever your ability Wenvoe Castle will provide an interesting and challenging test of golf in truly picturesque surroundings.

Generally very good

Great Condition
Lovely welcoming course, lots of ups and downs but we all enjoyed it.Takeaway pints by the 12th tee was a great option and you will be thirsty due to the hills.

Course in good condition considering the current climate with Covid-19. The greens are able to take a shot which is great considering how dry the rest of the course is due to lack of rain.

Course was in very good condition considering the amount of rain we have had last two weeks. Not boggy under-foot and the green are fast and true.

This was booked online which almost halved the normal green fee. The clubhouse is impressive with nice views around the course. The first 8 holes go up and down the same hill multiple times, the back nine is flatter. The holes are moderately narrow, but not overly punishing. There are some strong par 4's and a couple of nice par 5's. The greens were fast and true, the fairways were in good condition. The course was not busy early morning but looked busier by midday.

Played in the winter when the greens weren't at there best. But the course defiantly made up for this. Would play again great location and course.

Decent course with good variety of holes. Great web deals in Winter months but beware greens awful after they get hollow tined in October. Golfers should be warned when booking and be given more discount to play. Check first in Autumn onwards for course conditions. No range.

Had a superb day at Wenvoe Castle in March 2016.
The Professional, Jason was excellent and made us feel very welcome upon arrival. He even kept me appraised of the condition of the course as we were travelling from The Midlands to play.
The course was in fantastic condition for the time of year, the fairways and greens were all very good and provided a good all round test. Like others have said, the first 9 is somewhat up and down, but do not let this put you off, it's well worth a visit. The green fee represented amazing value, £15 each was a real bargain given the quality of the venue.
There are some lovely holes, particularly on the back 9; I would imagine that in the summer with roll that some of the Par 4's would be reachable.
All in all, a very enjoyable visit made even better by the members and Jason - THANK YOU!

Hilly and fairly tight front 9. Flatter second 9. Fair golf course (i.e. It looks very playable from most tees, but if you play like a fool (as i did today)), it will punish you. Greens very true and fast.

Tight course and if you stray prepare to lose a good few balls. Greens were very true and fairways were in great condition.

A very enjoyable round on this great course which was in mint condition - the brens were very fast but fair and contributed to a great round of golf and the catering was very good indeed.

Approached by a long drive the club house is quite majestic around a court yard. You are made welcome by everyone. An undulating,challenging course and you always see greenstaff out maintaining/improving the courses. This club has a good aura about it. Catering is of a good quality and staff are friendly.If you are in the Cardiff area well worth a visit
