What the club says: Established in 1914, Dinas Powis is a beautiful but challenging parkland course which borders ancient woodlands with stunning views of the Vale of Glamorgan and over the Bristol Channel into Devon. The course has dramatic views over the Bristol Channel , Penarth and Barry and countryside to the north east.

It is challenging and very well presented. After completion of your round, you are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere in the clubhouse.

My first round at Dinas Powys - a real gem of a course. Some really interesting holes and special offer price of £10 represents superb value.

As a v casual player, played the course recently with my son ( both beginner/ intmediate level ) using a good voucher offer. The 1st nine were ok ish , just challenging enough but the back 9 were definitely difficult, the terrain obscure... sheep grazing all over the place , near tees and even on putting surface... no wonder fairways kept grass short !! but also a lot of waiting for golfers sharing same fairways, great deal of patience and etiquette demanded..

YOU PLAY THE FRONT 9 ON THE FLAT, WITH BACK TO BACK HOLES. YOU THEN CLIMB UP OVER TWO SEPERATE HILLS WITH LONG SWEEPING PAR 4 AND A SHORT PAR 3. UNTIL YOU CLIMB THEN AGAIN TO A LONG SWEEPING PAR 5.
A SHORT WALK THEN THROUGH FARMERS FIELDS TO 3 MORE UNUSUAL SWEEPING HOLE BEFORE YOU START TO WALK BACK.
THE 16TH IS A DRAMATIC OVER DROP, AND SHORT PAR 3 FOR THE 18TH.
THE COURSE IS WELL MAINTAINED, GREAT FACILITIES.
I WILL CEWRTAINLY PLAY THEREW AGAIN.

Great hidden gem, some really difficult holes. Great views over Cardiff and on a nice day there's no where better to be.
