What the club says: Stover Golf Club was founded in 1931, although its origins can be traced back to 1894 when Major Harold St Maur created a course on his own estate, which was interwoven with the Stover pheasant shoot. The Club is situated very close to the A38 Plymouth Expressway and 3 miles north of Newton Abbot which makes the course very accessible to both members and visitors alike.
The course is set in parkland with some of the prettiest golf holes in Devon. Extensive, mature woodlands and water, feature on a number of holes - the 5952 yards, par 69 provides an interesting and enjoyable challenge to golfers of all abilities.

Stunning course
My favourite course to visit when in the area. Fairways well kept, bunkers have sand, greens are perfect. Great collection of trees around the course, some water but not to much. One problem, the steam train next door whistled as I was playing a shot!Reviewer Rating

Lovely Course
Played here October 2019.Really enjoyed this pleasant & attractive parkland course .It has a stream ,there are several well kept ponds & a good variety of trees .It seems quite unassuming when you first pull in from the road & the first few holes are undulating & then it becomes generally easy walking ,
The holes are well designed & playable & there wasn't a hole i didn't like .Not a long course on the card It all feels like a nice walk round a good quality course.
The par 3's are impressive , particularly the short 7th which is probably the signature hole & which is followed by the very good par 5 8th.
The type of course that i would consider joining if i lived in the area.
