Played Stover in the beginning of November whilst visiting my son in Devon. He's a junior member and, after receiving the warmest of welcomes, he signed me in for £18 on a busy Saturday afternoon. Its a very mature parkland course with tight fairways which, in places are only 20 yards wide. From tee to green I found the course in absolute tip-top condition and a total delight to play in the warm November sun. Also, there isn't a weak hole on the course, each presenting a different challenge. The members I spoke to were very warm and friendly and gave the impression that they not only loved playing their course, but they were very proud of it too. Stover Golf Club also has a very excellently stocked pro shop.

Stunning course

My favourite course to visit when in the area. Fairways well kept, bunkers have sand, greens are perfect. Great collection of trees around the course, some water but not to much. One problem, the steam train next door whistled as I was playing a shot!

Lovely Course

Played here October 2019.

Really enjoyed this pleasant & attractive parkland course .It has a stream ,there are several well kept ponds & a good variety of trees .It seems quite unassuming when you first pull in from the road & the first few holes are undulating & then it becomes generally easy walking ,
The holes are well designed & playable & there wasn't a hole i didn't like .Not a long course on the card It all feels like a nice walk round a good quality course.

The par 3's are impressive , particularly the short 7th which is probably the signature hole & which is followed by the very good par 5 8th.

The type of course that i would consider joining if i lived in the area.

Excellent greens. good fairways with some good challenges inc. trees, water and bunkers. Nice to play a fairly level course compared to most in Devon which are hilly. Friendly golf shop. Did not visit the club bar this time but will next time to check out. Thoroughly enjoyable even on a misty day.

Best Parkland Course I have played in Devon, Greens are super smooth, some narrow tree lined fairways, and well placed water hazards are challenging!! (Hence the penalties, and very erratic score card)

Played the course in early August as part of a society day. Very friendly staff and superb food. It's a tight little course In a pretty setting although you do get a fair bit of traffic noise on some holes. The set up is quite interesting with a good group of par 3s which usually make a course memorable. The highlight was the greens which were very smooth, quite pacey and very consistent. There could have been a few more ball cleaners if being ultra picky but overall excellent value for money.

Delighful parkland course, but quite tight. As a beginner, one is likely to lose a number of balls in the streams and lakes!

Good challenge

Some challenging holes and some where you can get your points if you're straight off the tee. Some new landscaping and great new holes make the course even better than before. It's good to play a reasonably flat course for a change. Great food served to our 22 man society meet also.

Sunny day with very little wind. Did not lose a ball.
The holes have changed since I last played there.
My watch had the old course but I managed to change the holes to work out the distances on the first 14 holes. The next 3 holes were new holes so had to use the distance markers.
Thoroughly enjoyed the day playing with 28, 14 and 1 handicap.
