What The Club Says
Southampton Golf Course offers a challenging 18 hole fully mature woodland course. For the experienced golfer the 18 hole requires distance and accuracy from the tee, good iron play and accomplished putting. The course is a fascinating mix of holes with an abundance of natural hazards, unseen greens and challenging water features.

Could be amazing.
Such a great location , some brilliant holes. Fairways left too long, greens left too long and some of the tees are so uneven. Get a roller on the tees whilst the ground is damp!Reviewer Rating

A lot of holes play uphill to the greens.
A lot of blind tee shots.
Narrow, parallel fairways mean FORE shouts are frequent.
Very steep hills around 9/17 could be overwhelming for some players.

Never Again
Played this course many times in our society spanning over 30 years and it's been in great condition and loved playing here ,but sadly since covid this course has been neglected and now is the worst course in Hampshire .Tee's are uneven dust bowls, fairways have uneven grass with so many divots and the bunkers have no sand or sand with stones.
The worst part for me was the greens....
Like putting on fairways , so slow and bumpy. Sometimes we took relief because so many holes and old divots on the greens.
Some greens look great from a distance but sadly not good .
This course will need a lot of funding and time to be put back to how it was 5 years ago.
Best advice is save your money and play a different course .
Our society ranges from +3 - 14 handicappers ,so we know what is good.

Very Poor Condition
I’ve played here in the past but have to say this is the worst I’ve ever seen itTees either had bare dirt or thick grass. Fairways were patchy and very lumpy, ball shooting off in different directions. The greens had been left with holes and not dressed making putting a lottery. It’s a municipal course and obvious the council has no money to spend on it. AVOID
