What the club says: In 1994 we celebrated the first 100 years of our wonderful golf club, still privately owned by the members.

In all those years, the course has continued to challenge and delight golfers of all standards in equal measure.

The course has 10 holes, ranging from two par 5s, some long par 4s and tight par 3s making it interesting as well as a test of accuracy. It’s always kept in superb condition for us by our excellent team of greenkeepers.

This is no easy course it offers a real test o any level of golfer
Tight fairways, lots of high trees to get over and done deep and challenging bunkers

Awful course

I joined this club to play occasionally. The course is oversubscribed and it’s difficult to get a round in. Do not play. Unfriendly manager/club pro

Challenging 9 Hole

Wonderfully challenging 9 hole course, 10 if you play the full 18. The course is nicely laid out without too much walking between green and next tee.
The course is in good condition with some good greens.
Clubhouse is tidy warm and friendly and serves a great meal. Practise facilities are fine although the putting green needs a little work

Phil - Warm and Friendly

Comment from visitor. As a member of another club I have visited Shortlands in various club matches. Such a warm and friendly club. Always in good condition. Its members make it special. Anyone local needs to go along and see for themselves.

Here at Shortlands we pride ourselves on the variety of golf that we organise and play as members, and last night was no exception.
29 brave souls headed off into the dark and with our illuminated balls in hand we set off playing the best of a specially marked out 5 hole course.
One or two members decided to go over the top with their attire and lighting but it was after all night golf so they were forgiven!
Most of us sensible golfers stuck with using irons off the tees in order to keep the ball in play, notable others decided to use a driver or their fairway woods with one or two paying the penalty by losing their balls or in one case, nearly striking the immediate past Captain Dave Collen as he headed across to the eighth fairway, (you know who you are MW.)
For me personally, I played in a great four ball and we all had an absolute giggle and managed to play some pretty decent shots too.
After a great time, we all headed back to the club house for a traditional Pie and Mash Supper. Our guests and new members said what a wonderful event this was.
A great night, well done Shortlands, another success.

Great friendly club. Night golf in March was great fun, and thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part. Followed with a few beers and food. Well done to the organisers and golfers who supported this event.

Great testing local course

A hidden gem within the London area. Golfers will find this a true test of their ability, whether you have a low or high handicap. Course improvements have to the 6th hole this year with the bunkers being totally transformed. The Club will be celebrating 125th years in May 2019. We are a friendly local club so why not come and give us a try,

Great nine hole course in the outskirts of London, all 9 holes offer a challenge with each having their own surprises, no hole is easy , challenging par 5’s with tight fairways, tough par threes with Greta bunker positions , this is a test of golf for any handicap player, add to this a welcoming club house, it’s one to deffinielty try.

For a 9 hole course (10 actually) the course is not an easy one with tight fairways. The greens were in excellent condition and it definitely falls into the category of a course that was surprisingly better than expected.

A very welcoming course and surprisingly testing given it is relatively short. Definitely worth playing and being straight is more important than hitting it a long way!
