What the club says: Scarborough South Cliff Golf Course falls into two parts, divided by the main road from Scarborough to Filey. On the seaward side of the road lie the fourth to tenth holes which give stunning coastal views across Scarborough's south bay. On the land-ward side the first three holes and the last eight are laid out along the bottom of the rolling valley stretching southwards into the hills and on the slope of the ridge to the East.

Great Course layout. There is so much variation on each of the holes, it's not like a lot of courses particularly Parkland Courses which are up one way and down the next. Fantastic views on some of the holes on the "sea" side of the course.It has come on with the overall course presentation over the last couple of years and is great condition, would always have it on my must play list.

great course
just returned from a fabulous round of golf at Scarborough south cliff.considering the weather we have had recently, its in pretty good shape.
fairways spot on ( mats required ). rough cut but still pretty soft underfoot. greens very true.
patrons very polite as are greenstaff & pro's office.

Scarborough South cliff is a very good course. I realise that as I was playing alone that I have no status on the course but it's disappointing that the players in front did not offer to let me play through in spite of having to wait at almost every tee. This has been the case almost every time that I have played here and is in total contrast to the attitude of members at the nearby Scarborough North Cliff Golf club whom I have always found to be very welcoming and accommodating.

Lovely course
Nice cliff top course on a sunny day. Only criticism would be that the sand in the bunkers was so compacted that it was near impossible to hit out of with any accuracy.Reviewer Rating

Unusual fairway mats
To protect the fairways you have to use fairway mats if your ball is on the fairway or place it in the semi. The fairways looked okay but there was quite a lot of mud. Mats on all tees as well, although all greens were in play. Reasonably interesting layout.Reviewer Rating

Challenging but enjoyable
This is a challenging course that requires accurate tee shots and good iron play. Several holes offer stunning seaward views and are affected by the strength and direction of the wind. The fairways and greens were very well maintained.Reviewer Rating

Brilliant day out

Excellent away day at South Cliff friendly welcome, course in great condition, splendid views of the coast. Cocos restrictions in place so clubhouse not used but it looked fine. Pro shop was friendly pity about the weather but after a little rain to start it cleared and remained dry if not blustery for the rest of the round.

Love it
Always enjoy playing on a cliff top with a view of the sea. Wind can be a bit of an issue but its a course that keeps you thinking.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 117 Handicap: 30)
