What The Club Says
Founded in 1887 The Royal is a traditional members golf club situated in the lee of the Sussex South Downs. Comprising 27 holes of challenging golf, we cater for all levels of handicap. Both the Devonshire & Hartington golf Courses are maintained to the very highest of standards. Built on chalk we seldom see the courses closed.
Not only are the courses in first class condition but when you play at The Royal you will also enjoy some stunning views across East Sussex.

Some tricky holes
Played in lovely weather. Has some challenging holes with blind shots, so some sort of idea of line is essential, very punishing rough, so keeping to the fairway is key. All in all a lovely way to spend an afternoon.Reviewer Rating

Course excellent but not worth £55
Really nice course but a friend booked it and I couldn't believe that it had gone up from pre pandemic £35 after 1 to £55. £35 twilight is now after 3pm. As I say good course but not worth £55 IMO.Reviewer Rating
