What The Club Says
The course is situated on the beautiful South Downs and enjoys wonderful panoramic views across the English Channel, Beachy Head and directly over Eastbourne.
Boasting 100 years in development the course is a superb example of a downland course. Depending on the time of year you can experience fast running fairways and tight lies to soft receptive greens into a stiff breeze. Whatever your skill level you’ll find the course a superb test of golf. No two days will play the same at the Downs offering you the ability to develop a wide range of skills and shots.

Great views, good challenge

Its well kept and provides a good challenge especially if its windy.
The only improvements that I would like to see are a new tee box for the 11th hole instead of teeing off from the fairway.
And please keep the ball washers filled up,they are always empty !!

Great test
Can be windy, what else would you expect from a course at the top of the South Downs overlooking the sea. Always playable, dry underfoot and good condition. Course has a challenging layout, but rewards good shots. This course is well worth a visit, inexpensive and welcomingReviewer Rating

Great downland course
Course has been improved in recent years, one the eleventh has been re-instated it will be back to original layout. Only criticism is the poor state of bunkers.Reviewer Rating

Very enjoyable
1st time out to this track and thoroughly enjoyed it. Course in pretty good condition, greens good condition and some really great views along the south coastline. Only issue really is a lack of signage on the tee-boxes as quite a few blind shots, and if you havent played before and can make your 2nd shot very tricky!! Will definitely come back!Reviewer Rating

Beautiful scenery, some tricky holes
Lovely on a sunny day, great views. Course generally in good condition, though some of the greens were a little bobbly - looked like they'd recently been sanded.Hilly almost everywhere with lots of sideways run on the fairways.
