What the club says: Set in 150 acres of unspoilt links land. It enjoys a temperate climate and its seaside nature ensures that golfers can play the greens all the year round. It is a championship course, 6808 yards off the championship blue tees and 6564 yards of the medal white tees. The prevailing south west winds are a feature of the course and the low punched shot is often a very useful addition to the player's repertoire.

Can?t beat in winter

If you want to find a dry course in winter this is the place for you. Considering how much rain we have had recently only 1 hole had water on fairway. The greens were in great nick. Worth every penny of greenfee

Got a really good deal on golfnow so that really softened the blow. Had I paid full price and driven 1 and half hours to get there I wouldnt have been impressed at all. Its advertised as a links course, its not, just because its next to the coast does not make it a links course. But most annoyingly, it advertises for great drainage and all year round play, granted its rained for a few days before but the municipal parkland course facing my house probably had a couple of puddles, this course advertising great natural drainage had pretty much 25% of holes covered in ankle deep water. The 1st, 2nd and 6th were very boggy. The 3rd, 7th, 8th and 9th were pretty much a paddling pool from tee to green.
Im purely warning to not go near after any rain.
Had it not rained and been advertised as a well draining links course like the one Im a member of which didnt even have a puddle in sight, Im sure its a great course.
Good challenge, greens are fantastic. Definitely worth playing when theres been zero rain whatsoever

Proper links at great value

Played here for the first time in nice but breezy conditions. Course in immaculate condition with lovely greens. Tough but not too tough for a mid-handicapper with the wind blowing. Tough to beat for value for money. Staff extremely friendly and a decent ham and cheese toastie to boot! Well worth the drive from Manchester.

Lovely course, pays to keep it on the fairway though as the rough is pretty tough. Greens in excellent condition and the staff were really friendly.
