What the club says: Situated on the South Downs above Portsmouth, this Downland course was designed by F G Hawtree and is a true test of golf with sloping fairways and uneven lies. The views from the second and twelth holes are some of the best in Hampshire golf overlooking Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight and the Solent. There are several outstanding feature holes on the course some of which are dog legs. The course measures 6,040 yards, par 69 for Men and 5,265 yards, par72 for Ladies.

The course is more of a challenge than it might seem. There are slopes across a number of fairways, some quite long uphill holes and one drive across the valley. It's a fun, if challenging course to play but well worth the tee fee.

A real challenge! Reasonably long and with plenty of hills and slopes to make you think. Facilities not so great but the course is a bit of a gem and wonderful value.

Worth the visit
Lots of slopes and difficult lies ,a bit confusing at times .Greens were good apart from the last ,some greens on the small side

Nice course
Course in very good condition, great view around the 2nd / 3rd and you can see the Spinnaker Tower etc. Hole 6 certainly deserves it's Stroke Index 1 and tough Par5 on the 9th.(Round played: Aug 2021 - 9h Score: 57 Handicap: )

Nice course, good to play
A very welcoming club. There are some very interesting holes to play on this course. The weather can be an additional hazard when you are on top oif the hill and your distance and direction need to be spot on.(Round played: Jun 2020 - Score: 108 Handicap: 24.9)
