What The Club Says
Traditional Links Golf on the Somerset Coast:
Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy genuine links golf in a setting that feels both open and unspoilt. Set along the north Somerset coast, the course looks out across the Bristol Channel with the Brendon Hills forming a striking backdrop to the inland holes.
The course is compact in footprint but rewarding to play. Firm fairways, well protected greens and the influence of the coastal wind place an emphasis on judgement and shot selection rather than raw distance. Conditions vary from day to day, which means each round presents a slightly different challenge.
What Visitors Can Expect
Visitors are always warmly welcomed and the experience extends beyond the course itself. The Pro Shop team are available to assist with bookings, equipment hire and any questions ahead of your round. After golf, the 19th Bar and Restaurant provides a relaxed and friendly place to enjoy food or a drink, whether you are finishing your day or meeting others. On quieter days, it is not unusual to see a steam train from the West Somerset Railway passing along the boundary, adding to the character of a round here.

Lovely Course
Fast greens, narrow fairways, thick juicy rough. Very well maintained course. Played twice over coronation bank holiday weekend.Reviewer Rating

Stayed at Butlins and wanted to play a local course. Lucky enough to find this course literally on the doorstep and what a find.Booked a tee time online and able to pay on the day. Turned up just as the sun was coming up. Pro shop were great in detailing what we would need to know regarding the course.
Course is set right next to the beach on a narrow strip that runs away from the clubhouse and then back again so quite tight if you are wayward with your drives and the course is busy. We had a day with light winds and dry weather but can see this being a bigger challenge in other conditions. Greens were fantastic ( I played the 2010 at Celtic manor the same week and these were at least that good) and well maintained, as was the rest of the course. We had some members behind us who were great at keeping us on the right tees and facing the right fairway having not played here before. If you do play visit the clubhouse afterwards for home made cake and a hot drink nearly as good as the course. If you get the chance play here. I loved it.
