What the club says: McDonald Golf Course is almost 6000 yards, with a par of 70 (Ladies 73), this testing golf course is laid out in such a way that it is enjoyable to play no matter the standard of your golf. The longer front nine has a par of 37 and makes full use of its natural stream and gentle slopes to pose a whole host of problems for the thoughtful golfer.

Interesting course set in 2 hole circuits.The 1st 9 holes are the newest and occupy a wide swath of parkland.The 2nd 9 are the original course. The holes are interesting and can be tricky but very enjoyable.The greens are excellent and play brilliantly. The variety of holes keeps the pace of play enjoyable

Thanks to a friend for the invitation to join in this Ellon Rotary Club Tournament. Beginner at golf and this was my first game in Scotland. Blessed with a beautiful sunny day so conditions were in our favour. Enjoyed the course which has various hazards like the stream and the usual long grass in the rough.

Fine weather and course played well even though there was massive amounts of rain on the days prior.
Played off 2 mats on the back 9 which was unfortunate give that it was June.

Definitely a course of two 9 holes - longer front 9 to the back 9.
But good course overall and two very difficult par 4 holes to end the round.

Nice course to play and can play fairly easy at times. 17 and 18 a very tough finish though.
