The course has been described as not having any weak holes that provides a challenge to every golfer, especially the classic dogleg ninth, the demanding seventeenth known as 'Braids Best', and the daunting elevated tee to the final green below.

Real Gem
Lancaster Golf Club is a real gem and one of the finest parkland courses I've played. The course was in outstanding condition, with immaculate fairways and greens that were smooth, fast and incredibly true. Set within the grounds of the magnificent Grade I listed Ashton Hall, the backdrop is simply stunning, while the views across the River Lune, the Lune Estuary and towards the Lakeland Hills make every hole a pleasure to play. The layout, designed by James Braid, offers a fair but enjoyable test for golfers of all abilities. A special mention to the young lad in the clubhouse, who was extremely welcoming, gave us some great advice and kindly moved us to an earlier tee time. Excellent golf, first-class hospitality and spectacular scenery?I can't wait to return.Reviewer Rating

Played as 2 guests on the 6 June and were greeted by very friendly staff and lady members waiting to go out. We couldn’t have had a better day, The course was in excellent condition albeit a bit dry - we’ve had such hot weather so it was to be expected. The ladies serving refreshments in the clubhouse were very pleasant. Can’t wait to go back again.Reviewer Rating

Value for money but layout disappointing
Played on a wet day and fairways were green and in reasonable condition although quite a few pitch marks. Greens were true. Course was generous though if you did stray off line the semi was heavy and balls stopped immediately. Layout only had a few interesting holes. As a singleton was stuck behind a mixed four that was painful.Reviewer Rating

Lancaster GC
Played at Lancaster last week and thought the course had never looked better. Greens were running really quick and the fairways were superb. Extremely welcoming and the staff, especially Liam, couldn't have done enough for us. Can't wait to play there again - great venue!Reviewer Rating

Fantasic experience
We arrived in good time for our tee and checked in at the Pro Shop. Latge airey and well stocked. The Pro was very polite and brought our time forward as it was quiet and we had plenty of time. The club house is Ashton Hall and is beautiful inside and out. Great staff and service. No real ale but one pint of cold Shipyard IPA did the job for me. The course is fabulous in great condition and tbe greens were perfect. Well done to one and all and a shout out to the very friendly members too. We will be backReviewer Rating
