What the club says: Located in the heart of rural Aberdeenshire, Scotland, nestling between the distinctive peaks of Bennachie and Dunnideer, this golf course is really the Hidden Gem of Grampian’s Crown. It is a parkland course requiring an accurate approach play to leave the ball in the correct position for the testing putts on the undulating greens.

The golf course was extended from nine holes to 18 in 1997. Funding was made possible for this through the National Lottery, the Foundation for Sports and Arts, the R&A Golf Club and members paying a levy. 12 new holes were provided as part of the extension. These have matured over time and now provide a full test of golfing ability.

Hidden gem.

We were in the area playing in an open competition and took the opportunity on our 'day off' to play Insch. When we mentioned it to some people they pulled their faces at us which made us nervous. There was no need as it is an absolutely beautiful course with a great mix of holes and views to drool over. The quality was good, with true greens. The hospitality from first to last was spot on, with good food options in the clubhouse. We will definitely be back.

Course was in excellent condition. Greens were perfect despite all the recent rain. Fairways good as well.

Inch golf course

Hidden gem of a course. Not a course where power is at a premium, with the course being compact and favouring the more accurate player over the big hitters. Greens seemed to have an unnecessary amount of sand on them for some reason, which made putting a lottery at best but the course in general was in very good condition.

Visited Insch Golf Club during our holiday in the Highlands last April. Played a round on a Thursday morning. Had the beautiful course to ourselves on a rare treat of a day, 17 degrees and bright sunshine. Everyone at the club was really friendly and helpful. The course was in very good condition for so early in the year. We can thoroughly recommend a visit to the club and would definitely return. Can\'t comment on practice area and food and drink as did not use these

Well done ground staff

We played in the most horrendous conditions where it had been raining for several hours before we tee'd off and continued throughout the round. The greens were in excellent condition as were the fairways given the amount of rain that had fallen. And the green keepers were staying ahead of groups to ensure the greens were kept clear. The greens were still nice and quick and true with the rain having little to no effect. We will definitely play the course again, hopefully in better weather as there were some lovely views and some nice challenging holes. I particularly enjoyed the 11th.

Visited on many occasions and will continue to do so. Great course and the clubhouse staff are always friendly and willing to go the extra mile. Visit when you're hungry as the portions are huge and delicious!
