What The Club Says

The Emerald Championship Course covers a total distance of 6,714 yards and is a par 73. Emerald sweeps around undulating fairways through natural water hazards and strategically placed bunkers, presenting a real golfing challenge to experienced and mid-level players.

The shorter par 66 Sapphire Course is designed to hone the skills of less experienced and veteran golfers in the finer points of the short game.

Lack of attention to detail

The course and hotel suffers from a serious lack of attention to detail, which is a shame as the layout and facilities could be very good indeed. Both courses are a good test but lacked that care and upkeep it needed around the entire site. The hotel had very friendly and courteous staff, the food was excellent but again the rooms whilst were nice and spacious needed that further updating and checking of cleanliness before re-occupying. I appreciate everything has to come out of a budget but a few little things add up to a big thing. The one over riding disappointment for me was the all too frequent option policy now by the owners to make the entire venue card payment only. I find that not only annoying but totally unnecessary and should be re-addressed. The weather didn't help our visit and in certain areas of the courses there was clear evidence of heavy vehicular traffic on it, again not good. For all that said the weekend was enjoyable as best it could be, I wouldn't recommend apart from the height of the summer maybe and that would be the only time I might consider a re-visit. For the Sunday round, like most venues it was very busy and slow play was frustrating especially in the rain and wind. The tuck shop was a pleasant surprise at the 10th tee but again stupidly only accepting card payments, which for a cup of coffee to get warm was and is ridiculous. There are better venues out there.

We played on the Emerald course. Pretty straight forward, pretty straight. Lots of leafs over the course and even lost balls on the fairway. We played Sept so appreciate some leafs but this was crazy.

AGS

Both courses in dreadful condition, have obviously been overplayed and not maintained to a even reasonable standard. Food certainly not the best , more staff required in bar area.Reception and pros hope staff were the only things I would recomend

The Emerald course was challenging, tight fairways with lots of trees, course in good condition.
The Sapphire course was not good, the tees and greens were in poor condition, lots of bare, rough areas on the fairways
