What The Club Says
Established in 1922, the English Golf Union has recognised our downland course as a great test of golf by asking us to host the Carris Trophy in 1999 and the English Boys Open in 2008 - both attracting strong international fields.
Described by 'Golf Monthly' as a "hidden gem," the 6,305 yards par-70, 18-hole course with 72 bunkers at High Post has, over the years, received many complimentary remarks. Reputed to be one of the finest venues in the country, perhaps the highest praise for the course came from Peter Alliss who placed the par-4 ninth in the list of his dream 18 holes.

Winners day out!
I entered a Facebook competition and won a 4ball at High Post including breakfast and buggies. We had an amazing day from start to finish. The course was in excellent condition and is a real test for any golfer. Especially when the wind blows. If you can play to your handicap then you have done well.
Highly recommend.

Nice course on a tight loop
Who would've thought this little gem would be right next to the A345. Good downland course in fair condition. Not too long however the wind made it a tough test. Friendly staff and members. Greens were in good shape however a bit tough to hold even for a high hitter. Due to the tight nature of the layout there were some shared tee boxesReviewer Rating

A warm welcome
This Golf Club has a nice atmosphere due to the friendliness of the staff. This first impression goes along way to ensuring an enjoyable day out at Highpost. The course is excellent, a real credit to the green-keeping staff so even if it is a little of your way I would highly recommend it.

Great course despite heavy rain
Only four stars entirely due to the shocking weather, not the course.\Fantastic day out despite torrential rain.\We had to use mats on the fairways, but the tee boxes and greens were amazing. Even with the heavy rain all day, there was no ponding on the greens. Some of the greens were very subtle to read.\I will definitely return in the summer.Reviewer Rating

Great experience
My friend and I recently, both took a half day to squeeze in one last round before the dark evenings set in. We had played High Post once before and both had very good memories of our previous round. Our second round again left us with very good memories, the course was playing great with the greens in excellent condition for the time of year. We had four members ahead of us and despite being a four-ball they rarely delayed us. What was especially nice was one the four-ball approached as at the end of the round, to apologize for possibly delaying us and offered to buy us a drink. Both of us had to decline due to time constraints but we both left High Post with only positive memories.Reviewer Rating
