What The Club Says

Ganstead was opened in 1976 and over the intervening years it has developed into one of the most challenging and appealing courses in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The majority of fairways are defined by grassy mounds, mature trees and sculptured lakes and bunkers. The generously sized and sloping greens present the golfer with numerous questions to answer during their round of golf. In the words of John Fieldhouse, golf and sports reported: "Ganstead Park is an excellent and popular parkland course which must be one of the most improved venues in the East Riding of Yorkshire."

Long wait between shots

7 min tee times not long enough for the standard of golfers. The last 3 times playing here we've not played 18 holes due to waiting too long. This is weekday so no idea how bad it is at weekends. Today someone who said he's from the pro shop just hopped on at the back 9 like it wasn't bad enough already. Left after 14 holes. A 2 ball behind us left after 7.

Course is mostly straight with poor bunkering positions, lack of maintainance and poor tees. But for the the price it's worth a try. One plus side, it has a very easy going friendly feel.

Flat parkland course

It has the feel of a municipal course. This course has a friendly feel and if you want an easy walking course with not too many challenges, you should try it.

What a let down! Small cabbage weeds on about every green, uneven scruffy tees and over fluffy rough past the fringes next to the greens. Just as well it was cheap, as you can probably tell, will not be returning

Played here early April, New ponds on 1and 3, will need work to finish off. Interesting first 5 and then is mostly straight and long, weak par 3's and very poor bunkers, nice greens and club house.

Course in good condition, with well cut fairways and greens.Not the most of challenging of courses , most holes being straight (driver just about every hole), poor bunking of holes.

Played here in Late October, found the greens in very God condition, but fairways poorly cut and rough, could not tell the difference! The bunkers were awful, rock hard, not racked and poorly maintained. Good pro shop and excellent bar.

Great course

Great course and well kept greens etc the staff and club house are very friendly and a good selection of of drinks etc.

Long and straight

Nice long course, greens are super fast and well kept. Bunkers aren’t the best but the course itself is challenging.
