What The Club Says
Certainly one of, if not the finest moorland course in the area set round a fishing loch. Every hole has its own unique features. Set at 400 ft the course has extensive use over Glasgow and to the southern highlands beyond.

Beautiful moorland masterpiece
The course immediately gives the impression that you are golfing in Perthside or Speyside, due to the rural terrain, heathland and the Fir trees which line the fairways. Although not far from the city, you feel like you are remote, away for the day. The course lay-out takes advantage of the natural setting, and the burn cutting diagonally across the 2nd is perfect. A brilliant mixture of flat and inclines, but avoiding having to play around the side of hills, making this course stand-out when compared with many others. It is neither easy, overly challenging, or repetitive, but it is interesting, fair and a round of golf rewarded with lovely scenery.Reviewer Rating

Best course in the area
East Renfrewshire has always been a great place to play, but the improvements they have made over the last few years have really enhanced the course. No two consecutive holes are the same, and only two holes go in the same direction one after the other, which provides a real varied challenge. The greens are as good as anything I've played recently, and the views from some of the tees are outstanding. It doesn't feel cramped like some courses, and the clubhouse patio is a great place to watch people playing down the 18th. Highly recommended.Reviewer Rating

Classic Moorland
East Ren is a classic out and back Moorland course to the south of Glasgow. The James Braid layout from 1922 is largely unchanged today, save for a few thousand trees that were planted in the in 1970s. \\The course flows nicely through undulating ground with several classic raised tees and raised greens that are synonymous with Braid design. \\The course is a strategic challenge with several holes requiring a tactical tee shot to a certain side of the fairway and 2 par 5s that will give many players a decision to make with their 2nd shot.\\Holes 17 and 18 are long and tough holes, that are conducive of layouts during the matchplay era where the finishing holes were designed to favour the stronger players. \\The course is generally kept in great order with well maintained fairways and greens and plenty of upgrades and winter projects ongoing to improve the drainage, bunkering and remove some trees.Reviewer Rating
