What the club says: A championship links, this awesome course became an Open qualifier in 1992. It dates back to 1856 but some records suggest it may have been founded in 1794. Old Tom Morris designed the first 15 holes, bringing the sea in as a lateral water hazard on some of the layout. When the wind gets up it is a formidable test for even the best of golfers. Well defined holes following the natural contours of a narrow strip of land between the old red sandstone deer park wall and the rocky shoreline are the hallmarks of this 18

Always presented in tip top condition. Try to play this course at least 3 times per year. Staff and members are always most welcoming.

A very tough course
A very tough course made harder by the inclement weather. Lovely seaside surroundings make for a windy round. Big greens, tight approaches, too many blind shots for myself but on the whole another Scottish enjoyable round of golf. Pity the waterproofs took a hammering.Would love to lay again on a nice day.

Sublime!
This has been a course I've wanted to play for many years - and expectations were not disappointed!Friendly welcome. Lovely breakfast. Very helpful Pro shop. Beautiful and well kept course. Views to die for and the golf was not too shabby either!
A wonderful experience of Links golf as it was intended to be and if ever you are in the area, a must visit.

Played over a 4 day trip, had very strong wind throughout the round making this a tougher test but thoroughly enjoyable. Lots of holes very close to the sea with some great views. Favourite stretch was from the par 5 8th and onwards. Holes 1,2,18 are a bit weaker compared to the rest but well worth a visit.

Fantastic Course
Really enjoyed the course, in great condition with a good mix of holes & stunning views. Mixed reviews from our group as a couple didn't like how close you got to other golfers/walkers (& there were lots of walkers) - but I loved it - traditional links experience.Reviewer Rating

A truly amazing golf experience

Day 4
Day 4 of scotland trip and the courses get better and better, this was a fantastic course and was in excellent condition, the rough was tough but not unplayable. The greens and fairways were great, a few blind holes made you wonder what you were heading into. Staff again were very friendly(Round played: Jun 2021 - Score: 90 Handicap: 14.4)

Stunning views
If a golf course has better vistas than Bamburgh then I?d love to play it. This course has fabulous views fro every hole.Not the longest of courses but interesting holes with a lot of elevation changes.

The course is in fantastic condition. The club have made many changes to ensure you can enjoy golf in a safe manner given all the Covid-19 issues. Both staff and members are very friendly and welcoming.

One of my favourite courses

Top class links...
What a great classic links course this is. Set out using natural lie of the land and classic out and in links, with back 9 playing into the prevailing wind. A nice test and beautifully maintained. Hosted final open qualifying this year. Must play.Reviewer Rating

Wow what a challenge today in wind and gusts up to 24 mls per hour. Great on the way out but the biggest challenge back into the wind. Best hole was No 2 into the wind. Three good blows to get in on the green in 5.

Course was in very good condition given the time of year. Play was a little slow but we had a couple of fourballs out in front of us. Very windy day but very enjoyable.

Course in great condition.
Course is in really good condition as of May 2018 and the greens were tremendous. We played it in fairly easy sunny conditions but I can imagine it being a really tough challenge when the wind blows. Staff were very friendly and I'd like to play again.(Round played: May 2018 - Score: 79 Handicap: )

Course was in excellent condition (far better than Gullane). The members were very friendly. The course (after the 1st 3 holes) is very interesting with great views of the coast. Would highly recomend.
