What The Club Says

This 9-hole Golf Course is one of the most picturesque 9-hole links, (Par 68) to be found in Ireland. The course first opened on 29th June 1986. The land on which the course was built was leased from the then Bishop of Raphoe, Dr. Seamus Hegarty. Some years later the land passed into the owenership of our present landlord, Paddy Forker. A new clubhouse was built two years after the course first opened. Cruit became one of the first Golf Clubs in Ireland to offer full membership to ladies. In 1994 Cruit Island Golf Club became the first club in Ireland to elect a lady President, when Eileen Oglesby became president. Our clubhouse has been refurbished recently and our course continues to improve all the time ,offering a great challenge to all golfers, whatever their handicap.

A Jewel in the North West

Playing Cruit Island is a wonderful golfing experience. It all starts with the drive out to the club where the scenery is just breadth taking. Scenery from some of the holes is mind blowing. A mixture of beautiful par 3s and 4s on the front nine with a number of changes to tees once you start out on the back 9 of this wonderful 9 hole course. This should be on everyone's visit to the North West and my only advice to all is to make sure you allow enough time to enjoy it.

Bucket List Course!!!

Just stunning location and one of the most fun rounds of golf you'll ever play!
Add to your list. The drive to get to the course is incredible. If there's a wilder drive into a course I'd be amazed. Fantastic

Fantastic little course. 2x 9 holes with different tee positions to make up 18. Tricky course plays harder than slope or rating indicates. Tricky greens can embarrass you with the breaks. Tough par 3’s with some intimidating OB over cliffs to carry. Great bunkers, super fairways and greens. Hilly but short. Some may need a buggy! Vistas absolutely amazing. Locals really friendly- need to play more than once to get a decent score. Would absolutely play again
