5 We played Craigie Hill on our annual trip to Gleneagles during which we try to explore at least one of the local courses.\So firstly - the main headline. This is a course you mustn’t miss if you are in the area - whole experience of Craigiehill was really memorable\and enjoyable.\Firstly the welcome. We are used to receiving a friendly welcome even as a bunch of sassenachs but this was on a different level. The pro could could not\have been more welcoming. During a brief rain shower as we arrived we were all offered a (free) cup of tea or coffee and were taken through some\of the main aspects of the course (especially some of the major slopes!)\Then the sun came through and the round began. We quickly discovered that whilst the course may look quite short on the card - don’t be fooled - this course is\a real challenge!\The greens were in fantastic nick and took some time to get the hang of.\Our hearts were pumping by the end of the third but after the fourth things flatten out a little with great views the surrounding countryside.\The best thing about this course is that no two holes are even vaguely similar - every one is unique and challenging with huge cambers on many of the fairways and\lots of blind tee shots.\We played on a weekday in October and the course was very quiet , very well maintained and without any pressure.\Don’t get me wrong - we are all high/medium handicappers - and all had a reasonable round so its not too difficult for most golfers - just really interesting!\By the end of the round we were all starving and had a really good bar meal in the clubhouse - also very friendly service.\All in all, the most fun you will have for £25.

5 Nice course, very hilly at beginning. Greens very good. Lots of challenging holes. Don't take driver at 5 or 10th, there's no point. Great views over Perthshire hills

5 Kitchen closed when we arrived, kitchen closed when we finished round and buggies were broken. Undulating and hilly but very challenging, poor yardage markers and no shot saver available from pro. Well kept and greens very good, green staff were busy. Tees and greens excellent.

5 Course in excellent condition, greens were as good as anywhere.
Built on a hill, there are some steep climbs, espcically at the beginning. However, plenty of older menbers manage round, so don't be put off, or take a buggie for £12. Staff are all freindly and clubhouse has good facilities

5 Not for the faint heart it is a slog all the way round and a lot of the holes you play blind as it is all up and down steep hills. Not to fit- stay away.
