What the club says: The Beaufort Course - At 6994 yards long, this Fred Hawtree designed, championship parkland course was opened in 1971. Subsequent maturing, development and care have given a superb course which presents a challenge to all levels of golfer. Water hazards are a feature on many holes and the quick true greens, though large, play smaller than their size, as many of them are raised slightly from the surrounding terrain.

Enjoyable
Nice but small clubhouse, good was excellent when we played in our society event. The course had a good variety of holes, each posing a different challenge (length, direction, hazards) the gentle couple of opening holes was nice and helped me settle into the round. Well worth a visit.Reviewer Rating

Missing something.
Not a great course but in very good condition with greens slow but very well maintained. range is tired along with balls and mats. 11-12 ditches to avoid and a course where power isn't required. plod plod plod all the way round. found it uninspiring at best, and can you remember a truly stand out hole over the 18? maybe the par 3 4th.Reviewer Rating

A beautiful course
Played the Beaufort on a very warm humid day with a few heavy showers, but despite that really enjoyed the course. It’s a beautiful layout featuring tree lined fairways that for the most part are quite generous. Very little water on the course and what is there doesn’t really come into play. Most of the greens are average size, apart from the 18th which is huge, but a few of the par 3s feature small greens creating a good challenge. Overall the course was in good condition, t boxes and fairways were very good. Some bunkers were out of action having been renovated, and some need renovation. My only real disappointment was the condition of the greens. It started with the practice greens which were very poor and slow, not a promising start. On the course some greens were terrible, full of holes and pockmarks. Don’t know why this is but it looked to me that pitch marks from the winter had not been repaired but because there were so many that seems strange. The very dry spring weather must have played a part. This only affected perhaps 4 or 5 greens, the rest were better, but all the greens were very slow. There had been a week of wet weather so perhaps that’s why.
Overall I enjoyed the course. A lovely layout and in a beautiful setting. They do need to sort those greens out though.

Great Course
Tried this course for the first time on Sunday and I wasn't disappointed. Cost slightly more than what I would usually pay for a round but it was worth it. Will be coming back.Reviewer Rating

Favourite course in Bristol
Friendly staff, a course that made you think in the way it was set up. Could not just smash driver. Clever placed bunkers which I found plenty of. I think playing some holes blinds are unfortunate as for a first timer you can't the line.(Round played: Jul 2019 - Score: 95 Handicap: 17.3)
