What The Club Says
Cathedral Course
The front nine boasts the 601 yard par 5 5th known as the 'Mother' with water down both sides it will challenge even the best golfer. This is sandwiched between two formidable par 3's over water which make the first nine one of the toughest in sussex. The back nine is more subtle with two par 5's reachable in two for the more adventurous and the short but deceptive 15th, framed with 300 Portland stones, and surrounded by sand.
Tower Course
The Tower has a good balance of holes which make for a more forgiving alternative to the Cathedral. However, there are still plenty of challenges from the picture postcard third to the dog-legg seventh. Water comes more in to play on the back nine with sixteen and seventeen running alongside the Braemere Rife.

It was not the course that made the day it was the staff
Made a last minute booking for The Tower course om 4th September 2025. It was clear on the website that the greens on the course had been prepared for their winter break so had been dressed and sanded. A thing that one has to accept as we enter in the Autumn period. So it is a bit unfair to assess the course. What I would like to do however is praise the staff. I had to change the tee time which you can only do by 'phone this was very well handled. On arrival the bar staff were terrific with a smile on their faces. I have to comment that their Breakfast Baguette is one of the best 'breakfasts' around the area. Pro shop staff again friendly and working with a smile.
It is such a change to see people the seemed to be happy with what they were doing.
Well done Chichester GC.

Solid
Good club. The Tower is the municipal course. Very flat, but still interesting. Course in good condition.Reviewer Rating

Annual Visit
THE TOWERTry and play Chichester once a year. It is always a pleasure with the pro shop staff, a cheerful bunch!
Had a very acceptable breakfast baguette before going out, which I thought was well priced.
I sometimes feel The Tower course does not maybe get the attention that The Cathedral seems to receive. However the greens were in good condition and fast.
Fairways were patchy, with preferred lies in operation. Due to the recent hot weather so cannot be helped. I only got into one bunker so cannot comment on them in general. Mine on the 17th was a bit lacking in sand.
Although not as difficult as The Cathedral, The Tower can bite you on a few holes if you are not on your A game. Some of the greens are very tricky.
Overall a pleasant round of golf.
