What the club says: At Cawder, we are fortunate to have two outstanding James Braid-designed courses, namely The Cawder and The Keir, both of which have been renowned for many years for the speed and true running of their greens. Both courses are home to a wide variety of wildlife, including deer and buzzards.

Nice parkland course

The second course at Cawder, but a nice accomoabmniment to the big course.
A gentle layout that us perfect for beginners or a relaxing 18 holes.
However if off line, look out for the deep rough.
Holes 10 & 11 dand out, but overall a good golfing experience.

Excellent parkland course (Cawder Course)

This is a treat of a course. Beautifully sculpted through the trees, it has you thinking right from the start.
For October the condition is amazing & the greens are absolutely superb.
I haven't played here for about 10 years,but it didn't disappoint.
Definitely one for the better golfer, novices would probably be better on the Kier course.

hard working course

hard course, for being rated as there championship course and a cup tie on after us the course was not in the best condition, greens were very uneven and there was evidence of hollowtining still visible. Probably would not play again.

Nice course

Played in a nice day with a bit if wind which made the course play quite a bit longer and defiantly harder. Lots of trees lining the fairways and the bunkers were in great condition. Took us over 4 hours for a 3ball

Greens were a bit bumpy but overall the course was in nice shape. Amen Corner is a nice set of holes. 18th down to the clubhouse is a nice way to finish

Testing little course

Course was in good condition for the time of year. Greens were good. Good test despite being relatively short.

Played Keir course, decent course but round was spoiled by the poor state of the normally good greens, full of bumps and tines holes, not very good after the recent great weather.

Delightful course with excellent variety of holes, long, short, up, down, doglegs, water. A few blind shots but you can almost always see where to go, unlike some other Braid courses where local knowledge really helps with clubbing and line. Requires precise positional play as trees may block out shots to green if just off the fairway on the wrong side. Beautiful and difficult set of holes from 13 to 16. Among the very best parkland courses I have played. Greens fairly fast, in excellent condition and quite true. The only tiny drawback is that the first few holes require playing across the access road, which seemed to be quite busy the day we played. Scored gross 88 off my 13 handicap, the course seemed to give me either pars or double bogeys.
