What the club says: Sitting more than 650 feet above sea level and offering panoramic views over Glasgow to the Campsies and the Arran Hills to the west, the course more than lives up to its majestic location.
Founded in 1888 and later redesigned by the acclaimed James Braid, it is the oldest golf course in Glasgow. The 6209-yard, par 71, moorland course is, despite its name, relatively flat but there are some tricky tree-lined holes, such as the par-3 fifth where you must overcome a loch to reach the well-protected green. Despite the name ("Braes" means "Hills" in Scotland), it is relatively flat.

Never fails to impress
Work going on on the course by the green keepers as you would expect at this time of year but course played really well even with all the rain fall in recent days. The full greens that were on were true and fast temporary green could have been repaired better prior to winter play. - Dec 4 2017

Good course worth visiting.
I am a high handicapper, but I've played quite a few courses around central Scotland. This is one of the best I've played.
Beautiful tree lined course, with some elevation.
Beautifully presented, fairways very good, greens very good.
A good challenge, some nice feature holes.
Had a great day, Can't wait to play again!
