Short but a real gem

You wouldn't know that the course is there. Off the beaten track but surrounded by other nice courses in the region. Well maintained though the greens were a little slower than I would have expected and a few of the greens are showing signs of repair/maintenance.

First time round here. Difficult to rate given current course condition, specifically the fairways which are currently burnt out to the point of preferred lies being in place despite it not being August. Given the £70 green fee on a Sunday evening value for money also becomes a relevant question. Other than that rather large sticking point the course itself was enjoyable to play and contained more variation in terms of elevation change than I expected. Despite being comparatively short of the yellows the course is by no means easy with some of the tees providing challenging angles. Looking back to some of the whites, they might even border on being unfair due to trees occupying likely lines etc. Had planned to have a drink afterwards but just missed bar closing despite it being 7:30 which appeared a little odd as there were other folk still at the club at that time. Chap in the pro shop at the time of booking was both welcoming and helpful however. So overall a mixed experience. I would recommend it but only once they sort the fairways out which from the look of it is likely to take some time.

Steep hills but well worth it

Played in Seniors open. Course was very well presented with quick and true greens. Clubhouse was being renovated so limited facilities but this did not detract from the day. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, food was very good and drinks reasonably priced. There are a few steep (to say the least) so if you are slightly challenged on the fitness or mobility side a buggy is recommended

Bramley GC

An unusual course with a mix of flat and hilly holes. The greens were well kept and quite a challenge to read. In very good condition with plenty of parking and a large club house with friendly and helpful staff.

Bramley is tough little gem of a course in Surrey

From the driveway onto the course with the 1st hole crossing the entrance, you are met with a great look at the impressive clubhouse. Here for the Seniors Open, so expected a course in great condition and hospitality to match. I wasn't disappointed. Bramley isn't the longest of courses, only around 5600 yards from the yellow tees, but it is very challenging. You will get a fair amount of sloping lies with the ball above and below your feet and uphill and downhill lies as well. It tests your full game. There are some good holes with the 2 x par 3's, the 3rd and 4th holes crossing each other. One over 200 yards uphill and the other 170 yards downhill, both are tough, but not as tough as the stroke index 2 , par 4, 5th. It sweeps downhill then steeply uphill to a green that is hidden from the fairway. It is only just over 320 yards, but it deserves its SI rating. The 10th is a good hole with water on 3 sides of the green, then the short par 4 11th, with a dogleg to the right, prevents driver use, more positional play. The 12th is another long par 3, but the finishing stretch can be a card wrecker. The 16th is a long par 4, with OOB all down the right, is a good hole and the picturesque par-3 17th give you a good chance for a birdie or par, but don't go left, as water protects that side of the green. Then the sweeping, slightly uphill 18th is a good finishing hole. There are some steep inclines around the course, so be aware. The course was immaculate as you would expect for an Open competition, with no complaint about tees, fairways or greens. The bunkers had plenty of sand in them as well. The clubhouse was welcoming and the catering provided, a running buffet, had a good selection of food. There is a decent selection of beers on tap to keep you refreshed as well. Facilities include, a small driving range a good size putting green and a couple of driving nets too. The pro-shop stocked all you could want too. All in all, Bramley is a lovely club and I'd recommend a visit.

Great course in the Surrey Hills

A course requiring a number of clubs and shapes off the tee, great changes of elevation and lovely views. Investment in the course means it's the best it's been for 7 years. Great clubhouse and food too.
