I thought the course was very nice if a bit short and with a lovely down his par 3. Definitely a course I would recommend.Reviewer Rating

Friendly club
This is a fairly short course but the difficulty should not be underestimated with every hole having its own character. Even the short holes are made more difficult by raised greens or sloping greens where a poorly judged chip can run off. While par scores can be achieved, they should not be assumed. The club runs weekly competitions for men and ladies (typically Mondays and Wednesdays respectively), varying between medal, Stapleford and Texas scramble competitions. Due to the timings, most of these events tend to be attended by seniors, but not exclusively.. respectively.Update on course and course condition following adverse comments a few years ago...
There are still some patches where the clay subsoil makes drainage difficult and there are still a few muddy areas where trolleys are not used.(particularly over winter). However, these tend to affect walking areas rather than playing areas and the ground staff have been very active over the last year or so in improving the whole course. Judging the course on the basis of some negative comments a couple of years ago would be a less than fair judgement today, The condition of the greens continues to be very good. Not all is yet perfect and faults can always be found, but there is much less to criticise than there was a couple of seasons ago. It is basically a good enjoyable short course.

I have been a member here for a year. Last winter the course was poor very wet and muddy, I was told this was due to losing greenkeeper staff. Summer time the course is good but now we have got to November the course is in a terrible condition, the fairways are full of mud as are all the paths. I know we have had constant rain but other local courses are holding up well.I think many members will be leaving as the course is good for six months of the year only.I spoke to a another member today who said its the worst condition the course has been in since he joined ten years ago.Good to play in summer don't bother in the winter they should do six month membership.Reviewer Rating
