What The Club Says
Welcome to Bolton Old Links Golf Club, our fantastic Championship Golf Course, home to the PGA "Lancashire Open". The course was designed by Alister MacKenzie, and is a challenging and most enjoyable Par-72 layout, contrasting of two loops of nine with the front half surrounded by the back half. Bolton Old Links is a lovely exposed moorland location, which means wind mainly contributes to the experience, along with our fantastic challenging greens. The highest point of the course sits on the 12th hole, from where you can experience magnificent breath taking views of the four surrounding counties.
Our on site Resident PGA Professional Sean Owen awaits, offering a first class customer experience, a very impressive and well stocked professional shop, buggy and trolley hire. In addition, there is a state of the art indoor swing studio, where golf lessons and club fittings are available along with a GCQuad simulator to enhance your experience.
A further warm welcome awaits you in our Clubhouse from our Bar and Catering team, led by Elizabeth Manniex. Here you are invited to enjoy a drink from our well stocked bar, including local craft beers. Our on-site catering facilities provides a wide range of breakfast, bar snacks, specials or a tasty meal from our exquisite new menu. We also have an on course facility, 'The 19th Hole' which can also be enjoyed at the end of the round with drinks and food available.
On site we have two private function suites along with a snooker room. On the ground floor we have the MacKenzie suite that caters for the smaller events of approx seventy guests. On our first floor you will find the Montserrat suite, which can facilitate larger events up to one hundred and twenty guests. This suite boasts its own private bar, stage and dance floor perfect for weddings and parties.

Great course worth playing
Having played Bolton Old Links a couple of times before but a few years ago was looking forward to playing it again. Friendly welcome in clubhouse and pro shop, nice bacon butty. Putting green and practice nets near first hole. Nice starting hole uphill gives you sense of things to come as course is quite up and down. Course in superb condition, greens are some of best I've played on this year but can easily catch you out as were quite rapid. All in all a great course to play with stunning scenery especially from the top of the course. Will keep returning for sure.Reviewer Rating

clueless putting
good course greens like glass for me but my playing partner (member) shown me how to play the course if your knowledgeable about the greens its a great course if not it makes you look foolish(Round played: Sep 2021 - Score: 91 Handicap: 11.2)

Pleasant surprise
Due to bad weather the course we were due to play was closed. After a quick ring round we were lucky to be offered a tee time as visitors early Sunday morning. Great course. The views were stunning with a nice mix of holes. Be prepared for a long walk up & down hills.Reviewer Rating

Difficult Course
