What the club says: Established in 1889, Blairgowrie Golf Club is certainly one of the top inland clubs in Scotland. The Blairgowrie Golf Club offers the chance to play on two of the finest championship golf courses, and one of the best 9 hole courses, in Scotland:
The Lansdowne Championship Course, host of major PGA and SGU events.
The Rosemount Course, venue of Greg Normans first European tour victory.
The Wee Course, a challenging par 32. The nine-hole Wee Course is perfect for a warm-up round or for golfers just starting out.

Top Heathland Course

Just played in the Mixed Open yesterday on the Lansdown course and I could wax lyrical all day, but simply put, golf just does not get any better than this.
My credentials, played for 60 years, lowest handicap was 2, now 8, played all Open venues apart from Royal St. George’s (too far).
The course is just superb, lovely club house, a great welcome from the staff, and the food is exactly what you would want at a golf club, great quality and a good quantity.
For those that have not played at Blairgowrie, you are missing out on a golf course that must rank in the top five heathland courses in the UK.

Lansdowne Course = Slightly Disappointed

Reading reviews about the two 18 hole courses at this golf club I went with very high expectations so this review may be coloured by those. My initial contact inside the golf shop wasn't great as I wasn't even directed to the first tee - had to ask. I played the Lansdowne course on a sunny afternoon. Course conditions were excellent, there is no doubt that the green keeping team maintain the course to the best standards. It was the course itself that I was disappointed by as the defence of most holes was simply narrow fairways and strategic bunkers. Almost every hole was straight so if you hit the ball straight and kept yourself out of the trees and sand it presents the minimum of challenge. Frankly, after five or six holes I was wanting something a bit different to make me think about strategy.

Beautiful course Great experience

The facility has a well earned high reputation developed since the 1890's. the Rosemount is a superb design maintained in top quality condition. The Scottish amateur Open is to be played at this venue later this year. The bunkering is fabulous with a natural topping as loved by James Braid. The pro shop and clubhouse are excellent with customer service that leads to me realise that the 100% Highly Recommended rating is no accident.i played at this venue in a UK team competition and it was excellent on both days. Food superb.

Really enjoyed this course; even if you slightly miss some of the narrow fairways, you still normally have a shot. Given the amount of rain that's fallen this month, the course was in great condition. If I was being really critical, there could be a wee bit more sand in some of the bunkers.

Played the Wee course when I had a couple of hours to spare while visiting family. Course in excellent condition and greens were fantastic. A little bit pricey for a 9 hole course, but you can see that it is well maintained.

Will be playing the Landsdowne course next.

Played at Blairgowrie 16/8/13 ...... We played 36 holes in the same day Lansdowne at 11:30 & Rosemount at 4:30

When you arrive at blairgowrie immediatley you no your at a great golf club, the practice facilites are amazing , the chipping green is one of the best greens ive played on !!! Service was great staff were great and everything was priced reasonably.

Firstly we played the LANSDOWNE course , we played this golf course off the whites and it was a great challenge which is very very tight from tee to green. The greens had been worked on and werent great but we were informed of this before we booked, that said they were still rolling nice and werent that bad , this golf course has some fantastic holes and some really long par 4s. Im glad i have played it but it feels like a newish golf course when you play it , overall really good golf course would like to play week in/out as member.

Then we played the Rosemount....WOW this golf course is amazing the greens were 10/10 absolutley perfect in everyway , the golf course draws you in on the first hole and plays great untill the very end. Playing through the pines its very Formby-esque for a couple of holes it really is a lovely golfcourse im so happy that we played there and had the oppurtunity to experience such a great course , we played from the yellow tees for the rosemount & it was challenging (4,8,10 handicaps) there was 1 bad hole on the rosemount i think its the 6th what doesnt feel like it should be on the course (maybe just me being picky!!!) other than that the rosemount at blairgowrie is a MUST PLAY.

Had the pleasure of playing the Lansdowne course while on holiday. It was a fantastic sunny hot day after a few days of rain so the course was responsive but still fast on the greens. The greens here are large so you can get good GIR but expect some 3 putts. I really enjoyed it as a magnet for water hazards and this course doesn't have any so use the same ball for the full 18 which is always nice. I shot a 92 and with a handicap of 24 I was really pleased to get a net 68. Only slight downside was the fee to play at £60 a round. I'm used to paying between £20 and £35 a round at equally impressive courses but I won't grumble as i'm on holiday. if you live local though its worth the yearly subs.
