Fun little course
Cracking little 9 hole course. Parkland setting and tricky enough to challenge most. Par 5s not overly long which suits my game. Some wide fairways to let rip and some very narrow ones to think stratagically. Love playing here md if you know the right rimes you can get the place to yourself for a unhurried game. Bar inside Backworth Hall with very friendly staff and been told the food is really good here. ?12 for 9 holes or ?18 for 18 can't be bad. Members always very welcoming and full of tips on course play.

Worth a shot
Backworth is a small 9 hole course played twice that can be quite tricky for a beginner as there are a few holes that are very narrow. They offer 18 holes for a tenner in the winter months which is a pretty good deal. Hole 3 in the winter is a bugger as there is a huge tree right in front of you with not many options to go around it without being way off the green. It's a nice picturesque course and good fun. 5he staff are very friendly and the Green keeper is a top bloke giving us a lot of advice on best time to play etc. Practise facilities are limited to a short strip of land about 120yds and a putting green that's not in the best condition but gets you warmed up. The clubhouse has a nice small bar and yet again the staff are top notch. Members I've come across have been very friendly and helpful. If you want a quick game of 9 holes with a bit of a challenge then this is a good course for that. Will play again many times as in my door step.

Lovely Little 9 Holes
Lovely little 9 hole course, just ?10, turned up and played, nice setting very friendly staff and members, would definitely recommend.

Great starter course
This nine hole course is great for a mid week warm up or for those new to golf. The undulating fairways are wide but there are plenty of bunkers to keep the more established players honest. The club offers a turn up and play policy which makes it idea for a last minute round.

A well established very welcoming 9 hole course. The course was generally in good condition with only the last fairway being a little patchy in places. The greens were very good and true. It is a very pleasant little parkland set up. Although compact it has a good balance of wide fairways and tighter tee shots. The par 3's are very nicely set out, although very much on the short side. All those around the course were very friendly. Come here if you want an enjoyable round without any airs and graces.
