Great to play

What a gem of a course very friendly staff and with difficulty throughout. The greens were very difficult to read so play them with care.

I visited this course yesterday and when I imagine a lot of other courses would have been using winter greens, Northumberland were on summer greens so hats off to them for that.

The course won't win any prizes visually, but it is does provide a good test of golf with generous fairways sprinkled with strategically placed fairway bunkers to ensure you can't just whack it aimlessly off the tee. The course is a moorland/heathland course and has a certain links feel to it, is easy walking but lacks the wow factor to justify the hefty green fees, particurlaly in the summer.

Still, a very enjoyable round, and another course ticked off the list.

Decent track, although a little wet underfoot. Greens were a little on the slow side but ran true. Good mixture of holes, par 3's were great fun. Decent enough challenge for golfers of all abilities. Double dog leg 13th probably the signature hole. Lots of hidden bunkers, requiring a game plan to be executed. Last hole a really good challenge with water in a number of places.

Very nice club, in good condition, especially following all the recent rain.

Good, fun course with some inviting fairways. Some members do not come across as friendly and can occasionally come across as arrogant, however on the most part the people I have come across on the course have been nice enough. Cheap for guests of members, expensive to join.
