What the club says: This is a nine-hole parkland course which is run by Ashford Castle Hotel, which is situated 35km north-west of Galway on the northern shores of Lough Corrib. Like a lot of nine-holers, though, there are two sets of tees, giving you something slightly different to think about as you are playing your second round. There are ladies' tees, too, and from these the nine holes measure a total of 2253 yards. Ashford Castle itself dates back to the 13th century and is set amongst acres of beautiful grounds, with a multitude of romantic gardens, forest and walks.

Lovely 9 hole course attached to the hotel. Well worth playing if in the area of if staying at Ashford Castle. €50 for a set of barely used Sim 2's, planner, some tee and balls was well worth it. On the day I played I was on the only one on the course so went round twice in no time at all. Bit wet underfoot in places but it seems to rain a lot in the west of Ireland so hardly surprising. Would play again if I go back to the hotel or was in the area.
