What the club says: It is difficult to find a more spectacular links course than Ardglass. With the front five holes hugging the Irish Sea, the blustery winds and meandering fairways demand the utmost accuracy from tee to green. Ardglass has been favourably compared to the other great links courses of Northern Ireland.

Links at their best
Ardglass was a great experience. The Pro Shop was very welcoming and helpful, caddies are available if you want one but we didn't find it necessary after purchasing the course guide. The course is typical links, punishing if you are not straight, the odd unlucky bounce and lost ball if you are too wide. Every aspect of the course was in excellent condition. Practice facilities are limited to short game and a net. If you are anywhere near this course play it!

Excellent course right on the coast so when the wind blows....
Currently redeveloping parts of the course so the excellent par 3 2nd is currently closed though heaven knows how it could be improved as a hole?
The old 17th currently back in play as a result of the 2nd closure.
Overall excellent course and greens and definitely worth playing if you are playing as a society otherwise a bit too expensive in my opinion!

The opening 5 holes on Ardglass are as good as any you will find anywhere. It has some of the most picturesque hole in golf. Then entire course is beautigully maintained and would happily play it over and over. THe par 5 11th is without out doubt one of the best holes in world golf, gorse, thick rough to the left and the ocean to the right along - intimidating to say the least.

A course that slips under the radar of most who are more interested in playing Royal County Down, but this is well worth playing and makes a much smaller hole in the bank balance. The opening 4 holes are all along the coastline and make a spectacular start. The new holes at 9, 10, 11 are an exellent addition with the 11th a magnificent par 5 back along the coast again. The 12th is also a superb hole - a shortish par 3 with the green perched beside the coast a long way below you. The course has always been in fantastic condition whenever I've played here, and when you're there call in to the clubhouse (castle) and order the fish and chips (service can be a bit slow, but well worth the wait).

Fantastic course with the most magnificent views of coastline. Links golf at its best, where shaping shots and thinking your way through the course is at its utmost, the wind from the Irish sea add to the difficulty and make this course a highly enjoyable experience. The only downside is the price, £40 for a round midweek is a little too much but one gets what one pays for.

Ardglass is a beautiful true links course in Co Down, It is a great test of golf at all levels. Ardglass was formed along the east coast of Northern Ireland and a lot of the holes skirt the rugget coastline bringing the weather into play, when you play Ardglass you are totally at the mercy of the elements. I must say, playing Ardglass on a good day is a very pleasant experience.
