What the club says: Altrincham Golf Course owned run by Trafford Community Leisure Trust is an 18 hole, par 71 that plays 6385 yards from the competition tee's. Although technically parkland the open and firm nature of the course means that, particularly in the summer months it plays very much like a links with tight, firm lies and fast greens it provides a challenging test for any standard of golfer.
First established in 1893 it's a mature course filled with natural ponds and Timperly brook meandering throughout. Every hole offers the golfer something different, from a short par 3 playing over water to long par 5's that will test the big hitters.

Golf Course Reviews for Altrincham Golf Club
(Round played: Aug 2018 - Score: 87 Handicap: 17.6)
A decent enough course with greens in reasonable condition but fairways very brown with the hot weather. Good to get a round in, though fairly flat and not particularly memorable. Worth a round, with friendly staff and members.
Too many golfer with little etiquette and very slow play
Not an enjoyable experience

Arrived at driving range at just after 8.10pm to hit some balls having noted at entrance that the range is open until 9pm. When I enquired why the machine was not working a rather surly young man told me that the machine is switched off at 8pm. "It says it on the website". I asked if he could make an exception and switch it on but he said "we can't". As I write this I note he has locked the entrance door at 8.25pm. No warm welcome awaits at Alty Driving Range!
Have been away from the game for a while and this was a course I played often (back in the day). I've always has a soft spot for Altrincham as it's a local course but always thought it could be a better course and guess what? It's that and more. The greenstage are a lot better. The fairways where the best I have seen them and now that have change the old 16th to the first makes so much sense. The club shop and driving range all in 1 is another good move. Looking forward to playing again.

For a municipal course, this is a nice one. A few water hazards, not much gradient but some of the greens are a bit tricky due to slopes or having brooks behind them. Good driving range facility too.
Weather has been poor in Manchester the past 6months, altrincham Is a gentle course to get back into your game.
Course is in good condition for a municipal as are the greens.

Great round - nice weather for a change. Bit too busy though, full of old boys!
(Round played: Apr 2018 - Score: 86 Handicap: 20.2)
Damp ground, lots of standing water, but playable course. V busy course so there was a lot of waiting around per hole, so couldn't get into any sort of rhythm. Main issue was the pedestrians on the course, they didn't seem to be worried about their own safety. Two girls even walked down the middle of the fairway as we were about to tee off!!

Picturesque course set in parkland suitable for all handicappers.Considering winter and course very wet, most greens in play

Altrincham is a fantastic course and the fact it is a municipal and is kept so well is remarkable, the course is flat and does offer some challenging holes, perfect for the beginner or the more advanced player. some areas of the course are bogged due to lack of irrigation but all in all a great course
(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 94 Handicap: 22.1)
A great course for the beginner, easy fairways and greens to keep the beginner interested. Tee boxes need a lot of repairing, some of the greens were a little worn but other than that, an nice municipal to play on.
Nice open parkland course
Can be wet in winter, but recent improvements to course layout are a great improvement

Just a busy place 2 4balls in front took there time needs to
