The exceptional Prince's Golf Club in Kent has seen its qualities recognised after being named as one of four finalists for the accolade of England's Golf Course of the Year at the 2025 Golf Course Awards.

Reflecting the venue's sustained commitment to excellence and continuous improvement across all areas of its operation, the nomination comes in a landmark year for the historic Sandwich Bay club, which hosted the Open Championship in 1932, following The R&A’s announcement that Prince’s will host the 2030 Walker Cup, a prestigious return of world-class amateur golf to the Kent coast.

Since the launch of an ambitious redevelopment programme in 2017, in partnership with acclaimed golf course architect Martin Ebert, Prince’s has undertaken a significant and ongoing transformation of its 27-hole championship layout. The work has enhanced strategy, aesthetics, and playability across the Shore, Dunes, and Himalayas loops.

This year the club has also completed a major clubhouse refurbishment and invested in upgraded hospitality and practice facilities, set to be completed this winter, ensuring the visitor experience matches the quality of its championship offering.

"We’re incredibly proud to be recognised among England’s very best," said Rob McGuirk, General Manager at Prince’s Golf Club. "This shortlisting is a testament to the passion and hard work of our entire team. The ongoing course development with Martin Ebert, the improvements to our facilities, and the honour of hosting the 2030 Walker Cup all reflect our determination to keep Prince’s evolving while respecting its unique heritage."

The Golf Course of the Year award celebrates clubs that set the standard for course presentation, innovation, and overall visitor experience. Winners will be announced at the Golf Course Awards ceremony in late 2025.
