Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Mini Driver Review

REVIEW: Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Mini Driver

By: Golfshake Editor | Wed 19 Jun 2024

If you're searching for an alternative option from the tee, Callaway's Paradym Ai Smoke Mini Driver might just be the ideal club for you. The new Ti 340 showcases the Ai Smart Face that was engineered through the deployment of real player data and advanced machine learning, with this club being created to offer a higher launch with more spin and a softer landing.

Designed with shorter shafts and a smaller head footprint, the Mini Driver aims to deliver more consistency to golfers who desire the style of a driver with the launch characteristics of a fairway wood.

But does it fulfill that promise? Golfshake's Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall has found out for himself during a comprehensive review, which you can either watch below or see directly on YouTube

Ryan tested the Mini Driver both on the course and indoors at his studio at Howley Hall Golf Club in Leeds, where he discovered just how the club fared against the Callaway Paradym Ai Triple Diamond Driver and the Callaway Paradym Ai Max 3-Wood in head-to-head analysis.

Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Ti 340 Mini Driver - What You Need to Know

Callaway Mini Driver

When using the Mini Driver, you will benefit from a club that encourages precision over those more challenging tee shots, with the Smart Face being carefully crafted to offer ideal launch and dispersion conditions. Forgiveness - another positive side to this technology - is enhanced by the introduction of micro-deflections that ensure that sweet spots are located across the club face.

Finally, allowing for Callaway's trademark adjustability, golfers can take full advantage of the front/back weight screw design by dialing the club to fit their perfect launch and spin numbers as a 4g front weight and 12g rear weight can be switched to lower spin and support a more penetrating ball flight.

Key Features:

  • Titanium Construction For Driver-Like Action
  • World’s First Ai Smart Face Designed Using Real Player Data
  • Micro Deflections Create Multiple Sweet Spots
  • Front & Back Weighting For Optimal Launch

Pros:

Fantastic option for those struggling with driver. The shorter shaft will make it easier to strike. The mini driver is very easy to launch and looks great. I also think that the lower tee height instiled more confidence over the ball and may suit players who have a steeper angle of attack.

Cons:

I found that when trying to strike the ball off the floor I lost a lot of consistency. While the distance was good, it doesn’t go as far as a driver. The smaller head may also be slightly off putting to those who need more face to explore and the higher spin may also not suit everyone!

The Mini Driver has a RRP of £449 and you can buy today from American Golf by clicking here.
