Known for its multi-coloured high performance golf balls, Volvik entered a new segment of the market this year with the release of the Volvik V1 Laser Rangefinder, featuring several technologies designed to help golfers become more pinpoint accurate with their game. Golfshake Ambassador Mel Davies has been testing the device for us.

Looks

The V1 I tested was the orange model and is bright and trendy looking. It comes with a very handy case that attaches to your bag via a carabiner and it all looks great.

Feel

It sits comfortably into your hand and is therefore very easy to grip making “zapping” the distance nice and simple.

Performance

I have found the V1 to be very accurate. The slope distance is also accurate and easy to turn off when in competitions. It gives a little buzz when it’s locked onto the target which is a great addition.

Verdict

Pros

This is a very good laser rangefinder, affordable too, at around £199. The simple setup and easy to use nature of the device makes this a great addition to the bag of any serious golfer.

The Bottom Line

I found the V1 to be impressive and easy to use. Accurate yardages make this a great rangefinder. I would highly recommend this to any golfer looking for a rangefinder.
